Initiatives
Initiative 1 - To feed and educate the children of Spring Valley, Africa and Granada, Nicaragua.
Spring Valley, Africa
This
past year, PCC was instrumental in continuing to bring Hope to the work in
Spring Valley started by Pastor Stanley and Alice Nganga. When we first meet them in 2007, they
were educating and feeding just over 200 on a daily basis. That number has now grown to almost 300.
Our
gifts this past year have assisted Spring Valley to meet the children’s daily
needs. We’ve also been able to build two additional classrooms and provide
electrical power to the church to aid in the scholastic and life skills
education that is necessary to thrive in this harsh culture.
Through
the partnership we share, we were able to help build a 15 stall restroom/shower
facility. Since the community doesn’t have running water, students frequently
were ill since they could not properly bath. This facility will replace a nearby three stall restroom that was used by the whole community. Being able to
bathe and wash their clothes regularly will keep the children healthy, ensuring
a brighter future.
This
coming year, our goal is to continue our monthly support, as well as begin to
provide assistance to help the parents of some of the children learn economic
skills to rise out of poverty. Supporting
Spring Valley gives the children, as well as their parents, hope that they
would not normally have.

Granada, Nicaragua
Decades
of war and socialism have left the country of Nicaragua and it’s people far
behind other Central American countries in both economics and education. Our continued work in this country has impacted hundreds of children through
education and food.
In 2010, PCC will begin supporting a new church project in the city of Granada. A partner church with Latin American Child Care (www.lacc4hope.org), the goal of this church is to educate the children in this community to the love and hope of Jesus Christ.
Initiative 2 - To minister to the needs of migrant workers in Wimauma, Florida.
Everyday, families just a few short miles from where we live exist in standards that are well below poverty. Struggling in the agriculture fields and heat of Central Florida, they are mostly overlooked and under resourced.
This coming year, we will ramp up our past efforts to bring relief and supplies to ministries that look to share the love of Christ with migrant workers in the Wimauma, Florida area.
Initiative 3 - To fund the PCC 2010 Benevolence Ministry to support our fellow attendees at their greatest time of need.
People
throughout our city have been hit hard by the recession and we want to do all
that we can to help those who are members of our community through practical
needs and counseling. Your gift will bring hope to a family in our own
community that may keep them off the streets.
Initiative 4 - To continue building the future of PCC youth and children's ministry for the next "Generation."
We are a church that loves and feels a responsibility to invest in children and youth. We consider it an honor to be in a great position to help a family make the best impact on their child’s life, help them raise a children to follow Jesus, and have a strong home. To do this, we have designed a fantastic experience for our children and youth each Sunday, and we are looking to make BIG improvements in 2010.
We have several planned improvements throughout our campus that will help ensure that this is the best hour of your child’s week, and that will put us in the best place to invest in your family spiritually.
