Parents
Partnering with you on this journey
What is Family Ministry?
Family Ministry is parents partnering with church leaders to raise the faith and character of their kids.
Your child spends around 40 hours a year at church. As parents, you get about 3000 hours a year to influence your child. With our limited time at church, we want to be strategic in how we build relationships and how we communicate the truth. Most importantly, we want to give you the tools to carry out your responsibility of passing on the truth of Christ to your children. The Family Ministry of Pinellas Community Church is here to partner with you on this journey.
Parents are the spiritual leaders...the church is a spiritual support.
The biblical model gives parents the responsibility of transferring a spiritual legacy to their children. The church is here to encourage, equip, and partner with parents in this challenge.
The Bible says in Deuteronomy 6:5-7, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. Always remember these commands I give you today. Teach them to your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night..."
Connecting Parents
Parents need to be informed. If you know what is being taught at church, you have the opportunity to carry on the teaching throughout the week. Below are the ways we connect parents to the Family Ministry.
- Parent Newsletter -- In the parent newsletter, we will communicate upcoming events, upcoming teaching series, and much more.
- Parent University -- Twice a year we will provide a parenting conference that will provide training in the areas of parenting.
- Resources -- Books, Bibles, devotionals, and small group curriculum will be available for you to be equipped to teach your kids.
- Take Home Cards -- A resource for parents to continue teaching Biblical truth learned on Sunday throughout the week.
